Top posters of the week (March 19th) Congrats for getting 200 GU! coins!

by Alan Attebery - Mar 19, 2012 Star_s898 views

I just want to take this moment to thank the Gamers Unite! powers-that-be for awarding me all the GU! coins this week. It really means a lot to me that you value me as much as you do. I appreciate the recognition you have decided to bestow on me for all the hard work I do around here... wait, what? You're not awarding me all the GU! coins this week, but instead want me to help out other GU! members by awarding the coins to them? Okay, I can do that. But could you please stop the hysterical laughing over my "all the hard work I do around here" comment?

Helping other members is one of the main goals here at Gamers Unite! And that help can come in a variety of forms. Take a look below at all the ways our members helped out other members this past week.

Answering Questions

Players helping out other players is something we really like to see here at Gamers Unite! Recently, one of our GU! members had a question about grooming animals in castleville. Another member, Kevin Odenwalder, answered the question in a short, simple, and easy to understand response. Thanks for helping out, Kevin.

Something similar occurred on our Hidden Chronicles board a couple of days ago, a game whose puzzles often leave people scratching their heads. A member couldn't quite figure out what the secret past decoration was. GU! member Kim Tuhaka had the answer, an answer that several other people later posted their thanks about. And we thank you as well, Kim, for your answer.

Quest Requirements and Rewards

For those of you who play Zynga games, you've probably noticed that the number of quests you are asked to complete has gone up. Way up. Thankfully, many of the quests are posted on Gamers Unite! to help you plan your attack. GU! Top Poster Teresa Donald recently posted the requirements and rewards for the new Queso Quests in the Unreleased: Queso Quests -- Expected Start is March 22 thread. Check out the thread so you can plan your line of attack in completing the quest. And thank you, Teresa, for posting the information.

A Look At What's Ahead

While players helping other players is certainly one of the biggest features of the Gamers Unite! forum, sometimes it's fun to see what could possibly be coming down the road as well. GU! Top Poster Albar Wahab did just that this week when he posted the Unrelease Feature: Trade Coins For Cash! thread. This feature may never see the light of day, but it generated a lot of discussion on both our website and Fan Page. Thanks for the look at what might be, Albar.

Personal Experiences

Players helping each other can take many forms, including the posting of personal experiences about an issue. Last year, a GU! member posted his thoughts about Slotomania in the thread, Do you play Slotomania? Then you should read this. This week, Darken Light shared his personal experience regarding real life slot machines while Chris Cichy shared his recent experience with buying coins in the game. Thanks to both of you for sharing your experiences with us.

Asking Questions

While helping out fellow GU! members is great, that help starts because someone asks a question that needs an answer. Some questions have us scratching our head as we try to decode what is being asked. Donna Mellusi, however, recently asked a question about how to go about blocking requests from games she doesn't play. It's a question that I'm sure a lot of people have had over the years, and Donna asked it in a way that was easy to read, understand, and help. Check out her question in the Need help with WAY TO MANY FB game requests thread. Thanks for asking your question, Donna.

One thing we've learned here at Gamers Unite! is that there are no dumb questions. Just because some people know how something works doesn't mean that others do as well. In fact, they may want to understand how a feature works before diving into what for them is the unknown. Alison Deckard did just that recently when she asked How to add friends from the Add Me tab on the Hidden Chronicles board. It's not the first time that question has been asked over the years, and it probably won't be the last. But it should go to show that you should never be afraid to ask. And Alison, we are very grateful you did. If you've ever wondered how the various "Add Me" boards work, make sure to check out the thread.

Thanks again to everyone above and congratulations on winning 200 Gamers Unite! coins simply for helping out our other members.
