Just wondering if anyone reading this has been playing Farmville since the beginning, and if so, what are your thoughts on how the game is now as opposed to when it first came out.

The reason I ask is because I used to be kind of obsessed with the game..but in the last six or several months in my opinion I am losing interest in the game in a big way. The excitement and personal rewards have withered away, there's no more surprises, no more "community feeling", and it is more of a money machine and less of the "real life feeling" I used to get playing this game. It is hard to explain in words here....does anyone else feel this way? Maybe you can explain it better. And would Zynga even care if we all replied to this post regarding our likes and dislikes of the game and sent it to them? I wish they would change the game back to its more simple game with less farms, better gifts, better crops and more challenges instead of these overwhelming contests and extensive and stupid buildings for this and that which all have little meaning anymore....

I have to agree with you. I spent my money to get FV money but do not do it anymore. I only play game when there is nothing else to do, such as TV or shopping. At one time I was playing 24/7. As soon as I awoke I was on the game and worked chores around the game. Now I do not care to play. It has just got out of hand and you need neighbors to click onto too many things to achieve goals and the neighbors are too busy trying to do their own thing. Cause is too many games and too many quests etc. You can not work for a living or you will never get anything done on the farm

I have been playing this from the very beginning and I have to agree with you on what you posted. I am so tired of countdowns, asking for help for building things at one every so many days until finished, while a 20 day countdown is going on and you are trying to collect every animal and baby so that they all master, while in a rush to complete crops for each new farm in order to complete it and building the big thing in the corner of every farm to a level 9 and so much more just to finish a farm also adding the factor of making the kitchen a level 5 it's all to much to keep track of, the friends do not help like they used to, it used to be so much fun sharing and playing it has become a chore in order to finish a farm and move on while trying to go back and master the animals from a prior farm. I call it crazy!

I have been here nearly from the beginning. I won't complain about all the changes and things that don't work but I will tell you this; Zynga went public on the stock market and the stock dropped a lot because most of the analysts said that they were very uncertain about Zynga's profits. They are talking about it's income stream and sometimes use the term "monetizing". What they are saying is how can Zynga get more money out of all the millions of people playing this game. The answer is - - all the new things that they introduce so fast and charge real dollars for. So every time you buy a new unicorn or tree or whatever, Zynga is making big bucks.

I've been playing for four years, and I've only recently become so discouraged that I'll go a day or two without even logging in to it. I'm all for new farms and features, but they have to work, and most of the new stuff is glitched and slow. When you have eight(!)farms to work on, you want everything to move lightning fast or it starts to feel like work, not play. It's become all about collecting items in order to receive a 'prize' (usually some animal)that's similar to something you already have and don't use. Maybe if you're lucky you'll get ONE unwither or turbo. The whole thing has become an overwhelming, unrewarding slog.

I have been playing almost since the beginning, I could come home from work, do a few things and be done in there in a half hour, now it takes me 3 hours to do everything I need to do with quests and all those farms. I have OCD so, I have a need to finish all the crafting things in the farms. So far I have English, Lighthouse and Winter Wonderland done, I could finish the others if they would quit adding farms. I don't want any more. We all need to tell Zynga to not give us any more farms. No more. I had to quit playing all my other games just to get everything done in FV. And just when I think I am doing good, I run out of room in my market with bushels, they throw in a new quest so, I can't keep up anymore. I used to be able to finish quests but, now there are so many, I can't finish them all. There is just not enough time. I have 300 plus neighbors and, not even 10% help me. I am going to be looking for more neighbors that are committed to helping each other, I am tired of helping people and getting no help from them in return. One of these days I am going to tell them to start helping me or I am not going to help them anymore. Okay that's my opinion, sorry I got off track, I needed to get that off my chest. Feel free to add me if you like, just say FV and that you help people. Not just get, get, get.

I have been playing Farm ville for 4 years now!! It is my favorite game and I guess you could say I'm addicted to it!! As far as game play it has become way to hard to load the game, constantly freezes or crashes. Way too many farms, I don't mind having an extra farm or 2 but right now there are 6 separate farms and keeping up with all the quests is much harder!! I use to be able to complete a quest these days it seems they are over faster. I built my farms on the quests, receiving the specially gifts you get and I have spent money on items to make my farm fun!! I have lost interest in it since Christmas just way too much to keep up with!!! I have around 300 neighbors and still don't receive half of what I need to complete tasks or quests.

you know that facebook does not make farmville, right??
Looks like somebody here didnt know that.

Zynga has to be the most poorly managed business I've ever seen in my life. Ever. There's just no competition. There isnt. None. I dont know how they're still alive. Maybe only because of all of the times they've gotten away with getting people to accidentally spend money & those people either not realizing it, or not reporting it. So much about just FV is so crooked. But I stiil play. I wonder if all of their games are run this way.
Thing is, none of their other games held any appeal for me other than FV. I just couldnt imagine. I see people posting on their walls for Cafe World - I have the app blocked, mind you!!! And they are posting comments & anything, everything they can do out of desperation each & every day all over FB just to get a thing done in that game! Reminds me why I quit. I just dont understand why they play games like that.
For me, FV is not quite that desperately horrible but if they take away a little bit of the fun, it can get there easily. (I played CW years back & blocking it was the greatest thing I ever did for my mental health. Felt like I did when I got divorced, almost.)
But anyway....no such thing as "too many farms" as long as we are able to share storage & actually get our items onto those farms.

Picture?type=square

i played it alot in the beginning but now it takes too long to load and share every item. im thinking am i bothering people with my constant posts? i send gifts and grow, harvest and craft stuff. im more into cafe world. i check requests and send.

Picture?type=square

I don't mind the farms so much as the change to quests, I miss do a quest and its over or build something and it is done, now its too many parts to the quest for me to finish ontime and the neverending building.

Picture?type=square

I am addicted to this game I have been playing from about the beginning bored I think not but whoa with the farms already I do agree we have too many

I realized way back then, after watching my Daughter & Her Husband play Farmville, and then my Wife and myself, that it was literally takiing over our lives. Had to be near a computer to harvest crops, complete quests, etc., etc., etc. This was CRAZY. A person CANNOT let a 'game' run and/or schedule their REAL lives, which is what was happening!!!! So, I gave in to searching for a FREE 3rd party program that would take care of this problem and allow me to have Fun AGAIN!!! I found 2 good ones. Farmbot dot com, and farmvillebot dot net. There are a few bugs now & then, but you can just use them to harvest & plant crops, or, one of them has a Neighbor Manager, shows you when the last time they played & you can ADD or DELETE them!!!!! Some people are very PREJUDICED against these 3rd party programs, but I would have been UNable to continue playing without them. Gamers Unite Snag Bar helps also. Use the One Click-Gifts several times a day. My neighjbors get LOADS of free gifts EVERY DAY several times a DAY!!!

i've been playing since the beginning, and while i don't mind having more than one farm, the amount we have now is rediculas and causing a huge amount of my free time. 4 of the farms i have on hold and don't play at all (mistletoe toe lane, jade falls, Hawaiian paradise and haunted hallow) are a complete waste of time, and the amount of quests is completely annoying and the reason i don't play most of zynga games anymore. i HATE the quests. i have way more than 400 friends and neighbors and even i have trouble getting through the quests without spending cash.

Picture?type=square

where will it end? I mean seriously how many new farms will there be?????

Picture?type=square

could not agree more. i play on occasion and that is becoming less and less. i never intended to make a grand investment in a game
i have a real garden and home i can play with where the investment is worth it

Picture?type=square

This game used to be a lot of fun. I totally agree that there are too many farms, too many quests and it has become almost impossible to advance unless you spend farmville cash. I probably have over 180 neighbors and yet I still can't get enough of the items to complete the quests. I don't want so many farms. I miss the days when you could visit your neighbor and help them out and help yourself out as well.

Picture?type=square

That is one reason I stopped playing Frontierville..too many quests took too much time up and there was never a catch up to them..Farmville is getting the same way. I don't even do some of the quests anymore..actually need to go look at Frontierville or whatever they are calling it now and maybe clean it up and start over doing my own thing.

Picture?type=square

I totally agree! Too many farms and too many quests. I can't keep up. i don't have enough time!

Picture?type=square

Been playing from almost the start...but when all the new farms came out..and the quest they were asking you to do.That was enough for me....I just stay at my english farm and raise trees and foals...no quest, have never been to the last 4 farms..just doing my own thing...and I've yet to spend any money on this game...so if you like trees you may add me.

Picture?type=square

everyone in this thread saying that very few neighbors help them...we all should add each other. problem solved lol.

I have been playing just a few years, not really from the beginning but it was still a lot simpler when i started. I remember the stables and i still have my dairy barn and chicken coops... fun times lol. i think they redid the animal pens because so many people were manipulating the glitches with the stables though.

I have been playing FV since just about the beginning. It's the only game that I've stayed with the whole time I've been a member of FB. I agree with you about losing interest. My thoughts are that there are too many quests to be done and you have to ask friends and neighbors for so many things, that I feel like a beggar! I have a tone of FV friends but if my requests are just posted on my page, all of these people aren't seeing them. If you ask personally, you can only ask for one item a day. Just too many items needed. I haven't played FV for a couple weeks. Although part of that is because I used to be able and sneak to play every now and again while at work. Now I'm too busy to check. Plus, when you just had one farm to do at a time, I could quickly get on and do what needed to be done, and then check back an hour or so later. Now it takes so long to complete everything that it's become overwhelming! Just my thoughts.... Kristin
