Light-bulbSurvey on Castleville crashes

Please_share
by Michael McCroskery - Jan 06, 2013 Star_s5,173 views

Yesterday, I did a survey of people experiencing crashes and who uses Chrome Browser. What I found is that all, except select few,use PC or Non-Apple computer. People are using different browsers. A lot of the problems stem from people who use Chrome Browser. A lot of people say crashes do not occur on other Zynga games and few say they do occur with other games. Is problem related to Adobe flash player?

Please list your problems and how you are trying to resolve it or did resolve it? Also, mention what kind of browser and computer you are using.

I researched it and google chrome has it's own flash player and it tries to run the same time as adobe flash player. google the problem with coasterville and it will tell you how to fix it.

I downloaded waterfox after reading a different forum and I have been able to play properly and visit neigbours after almost giving up the game several times due to crashes. Problem is I am now spending too much time playing - lol

The problem is the ads they put in the middle of the game which you are forced to watch, if you start the game and do not maximize the screen, after 5min the ad will pop up and the Shockwave Flash will not crash. Result, the problem is with Zynga and not the browser you are using.

my computer is brand new.. i use firefox and dont have crashing problems.. i now in the past 2 days have experienced issues with it not loading all the way.. can get my gifts and i cant send request to friends for things i need... this is a zynga issues not my computer.... it worked last night and then it's back to not working this mroning. plus i zynga support is totally blank and cannot even leave a message

I am using a computer that is 5 yrs old. I use Chrome on Windows XP and Adobe Flash drive. Due to low RAM Waterfox, Firefox,, and all those other browsers people say dont crash will crash for me. I have found that if I clear my history AND turn off ALL plugins then only turn on those needed for game play just prior to playing CV it helps with the crashing. Before I started doing that I was lucky if I could play 5 minutes without crashing. Now I can play 30 minutes to an hour without crashing. Visiting is the worst. I can not visit anyone over 15,000cl without going down. I also can not have any other pages open or it is bad. I cant run Gamers Unite while playing or it crashes before CV finishes loading. If I go to Zynga.com to play and it crashes while there I can not escape the page without restarting my computer completely. This has been happening for 6 months and I have lost over half my neighbors due to this problem. Most of my other neighbors cant visit me without crashing so my royals barely if ever get tended. Not sure how much longer I can take this. I have played from the beginning but now I consider quitting daily. I love CV! I just hate the crashing!

I have Windows 7 with chrome browser and use the 64 bit Adobe flash. I find that I consistently crash on Castleville ~ Can't play with IE 11 at all, game won't load. Firefox doesn't seem to work either.

my crashes in Chrome got to be continuous. anytime anyone sent me something it would crash. then my whole computer had a slow nervous breakdown and went down to a black screen and I had to rebuild the all software from a clean install of the the OS. Now, so far, Castleville has run one long session without a crash in Firefox with latest flash install. how about that!! so I guess I won't even be installing Chrome.

I hope someone will be able to fix this problem soon. I really enjoy Castleville.
I have a new Lenovo laptop (3 mos old) with Windows 8. Before I could play Castleville on my old laptop in Chrome Browser if I turned off Shockwave Flash Player. That no longer works. The game will not load at all. I have tried Safari, Chrome, and Explorer. Now I spend more time reloading the game than playing. It is very frustrating. I also play Hidden Chronicles with no crashes.

For science!

I have a PC, Windows 7 with chrome browser and use the 64 bit Adobe flash. I find that I consistently crash on Castleville at the height of activity more than every 10 minutes and not on Coasterville or other Zynga games.

Someone suggested uninstalling the 64 bit version of flash and reinstalling the 32 bit version. So far I haven't been frustrated enough to attempt it but I just might.

Hi, after many months of constant crashing and frustration trying to play castleville for more than a couple of minutes, i may have found a work around, i am running windows7 ultimate 64 bit, i3 cpu and 8gb ram(more than enough to keep it's head above water me thinks.) anyway, i uninstalled the 64bit flash player and replaced it with an older 32bit version, (Released 4/13/2012) Flash Player 11.2.202.233 (159 MB) and it has been running for about 20 hours (with a couple of system restarts to make sure) without a crash so far. it would be interesting to know if people who are having crashes are running 64bit,.. cheers

I don't think it matters what kind of browser or computer that is being used. I really like Castleville, but it's to the point whether through FB or Zynga and on 2 separate computers, that it immediately crashes. None of the other apps I have on FB and Zynga crashes like this one.

I use both a laptop and a desk top both on windows 7, I use chrome as a browser. I have tried all the fixes but nothing has worked. I crash every 5 min. cant visit neighbors with out waiting a long time to load it then crash when i tried to do anything. It is getting very frustrating to play. I also play other zynga games and they crash too.

So there are millions of players affected by these failures with the game server in the game that Zynga says they are trying to fix. At least they have finally admitted it is their game servers not telling us to change browsers, clear cache, reload the game, delete the extra flash player in Chrome, reload the Adobe Flash Player etc.

It is so very frustrating trying to play our game especially when added to these problems are all the missing items, neighbor request problems, envelope frozen, unable to add neighbors.. etc etc.

Please pass this posting along to any other Castleville groups you belong to, other neighbors etc... The more people voting the better so they know a true figure of how many players this is affecting let alone how many have quit the game due to these problems. Click the bandaid to report it at the bottom of the page.

Who knows maybe this will help?

game crashes every 10 minutes, crashes more when i'm more active. always crashes when in the heat of playing the game trying to get the shit done i use chrome

Picture?type=square

my laptop is windows 7. i use both firefox and chrome. castleville crashes on both browsers and both on fb and zynga every 5-10 min. my pc is windows xp and i use the same browsers on there and it does the same thing. first i get shockwave is not responding 3-5 times then it crashes. it has been doing this FOR MONTHS! oh and yes it happens with both farmvilles, cityville and yoville also. quit playing everything but castleville because of it.

Picture?type=square

i'm using windows 7. i'm not using chrome and my adobe flash player is up to date. and it crashes qiite often really thinking of giving up on it but its one of the better ones i like to play. i sure wish you could figure it out. all other games are allright.

Picture?type=square

I am using Windows 8. Flash player is uptodate. I use Chrome because it loads faster. Castleville crashes as well as Coasterville stalls. I have 4mg memory and will upgrade to 8, I get out of memory problems a lot. I have disabled one Flash in plugins, tried other browsers, uninstalled and installed. I am hoping the memory upgrade will make a difference. I know there is a tremendous amount of code needed to make games plus the computer needs to run many other programs at the same time. Cross your fingers. ; )

I have Windows 7 with IE8 with Adobe Flash. I have also used IE7, Chrome and deleted flash and reloaded.

This game has been crashing for 10 months now and some days its worse than others. I just close my browser and reload the game until I get sick of it and move on with my day.

This has been brought up to Zynga over a year ago according to the posts on their site. Why Zynga is just now looking into the problem is beyond my comprehension!!!

I use firefox on a pc. I had lots of crashes. the problem is flash. You need to go to the adobe archives and download an older version of flash. Then remove the current version and install the older one. If you have Chrome and Firefox adobe accesses both browsers and causes problems. I found this fix on google.
