Light-bulbZynga *might* be watching us! (Litterally, using code.)

How do I know this? Well, I don't know this, persay, but I am making a pretty good "guesstimation" based on previous "happenings" that occured before the mass temporary suspensions handed out earlier this year. What I JUST found on my farm was the BIGGEST and most well know "glitch" (or so we thought) that was occuring...

If you don't know him (can't imagine who doesn't), here is Mr. Bob Fisher:

______________________________________________________________________________

______________________________________________________________________________

What's weird about this? Well... He's just there. I mouse over him and NOTHING! There's no "Here for 8 hours" or anything. He doesn't move. NOTHING! This is EXACTLY what happened to myself, as well as many others, before the Temp Suspensions happened. Many know Zynga is on their "warpath" again. Ugh...

So, put down the CEs, chill out on the "hacks", whatever you use... call a time out. Because THIS is how they watch us, LITTERALLY, by using code (source: IT / network / systems experience). They track what we do exactly. We all know it only takes using something ONE TIME, and if their "Little Spy" happens to be there... BAM!

Keep an eye out for him. They're sneaky, too. He's usually hidden in trees / orchards. Not this time for me, I found ya! HA!

Good Luck and Happy Farming!

The "Bob Fisher" glitch is just that: a glitch. It is not FarmVille 2 spying on players. This glitch has been appearing everytime there is a stand on your farm that you invite neighbors to visit, like the current Trick-or-Treat Stand. This glitch has been ongoing for several stands now.

The main post here is a logic fail.
Yes, Zynga could program stuff to watch how we interact with the game.
But.... Zynga is being super sneaky and spying on us and proof of that is they programmed an NPC to stand on our farms as a visual notification that they are 'sneaking'? Um, yeah, think about that.
Cuz, you know, sneaky programs usually try to be sneaky. Though it would be nice if all programs that spy on you had a visual notification they were doing it.

Your totally rigth I seen 2 figures the other day at the back off farm

I've had a Bob Fisher at my Trick or Treat stand and at the back of my farm at the same time. If I clicked on the one at the back of the farm, it zoomed in on the Trick or Treat stand so that was obviously a glitch. Also a few weeks ago, all 6 of my farmhand hay benches were occupied by Bob Fishers. He's always the same in appearance though. Same avatar as in the picture at the start of this thread.

Good luck getting that off your heirloom fruit! :p

@Scorlia'odeach Damha'n - Wait... they DON'T use master scripts?! What in the ever loving.... really?! What are they thinking? *facepalm*

Some of you are so mean! Maybe he's new in town and just wanted to check out the farms. Maybe he's a friend of Walter or Marie, or perhaps maybe his plans changed when Barbara accidentally overbooked her B&B. I have nothing against approaching a stranger like Bob with caution, but no need to call him a dirty stalker and the like. He ended up hanging around my farm a few times but did nothing wrong. He didn't dig up my crops or disturb my animals. I bet he's a nice guy. XD

ok folks, i have some interesting news about the bob fisher glitch. and yes it is a glitch and not "spying" as I and others suspected.
First off, as of 6am MDT the glitch has been fixed and holding steady all day and all night. I woke earlier than usual and started playing. Had folks at my trick or treat stand when i logged in, gave out treat bags no prob, and no bob fisher in the back lot. No duplicate avis still at the table begging after i gave out the treats.

I've been running multiple industrial diagnotics programs (retired stage hands union T5 computer systems analayst so have resources that domestic and so-called professional programs don't have) off and on over past 2 weeks. What i've noticed in the code without going all geek on ya, is that there was an incompatibility between the newest adobe and java updates, and some programmer errors on zynga's part which are the pretty common type. When i say common i mean that it is usual practice to take a chunk of code that is usable for a variety of tasks and change only the specific things it's being used for. Things like names of objects in the scripts, names of texture graphics that lay on them, menu options, etc yadda yadda yadda
This saves a lot of time and in most cases is a pretty good way to get things done quickly. Down sides are that when open source codes and things like java, adobe flash, divx and such get updated to the point that it's doing things drastically different than before, it creates incompatibilities. And if there was an error in the original code, then it gets copied over and over again until some diligent person sits down and reads it line by line, character by character instead of running it through a generation app to find and fix it.

It took me working on it couple hours a day for 2 weeks before I found only 3 of the errors. Scuttlebutt on the industry code geek chat rooms reports that there was a total (so far) of over 3 dozen errors and they are still finding more and fixing them.

So before we all get our britches in an uproar when stuff like this happens, understand that common industry practices is to first run it through a variety of trouble shooting apps to see if and what that fixes first, which usually does the trick. And it's done multiple times from a variety of different directions to make sure it's found and fixed all it can. When that doesn't completely do it, then the code is run through a variety of diagnostics and analysis programs. These take up huge amounts of time, some running for as long as 3 - 5 days to complete a single run before it forks over a report. Then that has to be combed over by many sets of human eyes to figure out exactly what has to be done and in what order to fix it. If that doesn't get it all, then and only then is a task team put together taking time away from regular operations and maintenance duties to literally read through the code line by line and character by character to find what everything else missed and fixed.

This is usually done by maaaaaaaannny people and literally hundreds of manhours. The fact that the folks at zynga managed to get it done with this particular seasonal event table in under a month is nothing short of miraculous. Granted it took more than one seasonal event table for them to finally get it under control, but that is probably how many times it took for the error to repeat itself enough for eyes to find the glitch in the code. And sometimes it can be literally only one character in a huge string for it to goof up. And if that difference is one like a . instead of a , it can be like finding one specific needle in an airplane hanger full of needles.

Now if we can only get them to use master scripts instead of duplicating hundreds of the same slave script for every dang little thing that does the same dang little task in coasterville and chefville to reduce bandwidth whoring and lagging...but one battle at a time. (for my fellow code geeks im referring to a the LSL code that allows for instance all the elevators or all the lights/glows to be run by one master script instead of putting the same slave script in each seperate object. My crew and i did this on my rpg sim in Second Life for all the billboards, elevators, and doors for our Seoul Korea project. It took the fps from 26 to 87, and reduced the bandwidth load by 49.3%. Zynga sooo needs to do this for coasterville and chefville big time.)

@Christin Surreal Martell - No worries.

*gathers up all the rotting crops from my vacated neighbors' farms and places them on all around Christin's house, as well as a few tons of animal crap on Christin's front porch....... flaming, of course*

No worries at all. :)

Picture?type=square

This is STILL up here? What the heck did I do?

OOPS! Sorry Alan. :/

Picture?type=square

@Tina Wilson - Who, exactly, are you telling to fix it? Neither I nor anyone else here at Gamers Unite! has any control over FarmVille 2 or Zynga. They would have to be the ones you tell to "fix it."

Picture?type=square

I currently have 4 Bob Fishers at my trick or treat stand. I think 2 of them are girls.

Picture?type=square

If you know its there, fix it? There wasn't that easy!

Picture?type=square

I HAD an extra shady trough bought fairly from the marketplace, no cheating involved. A week or so ago I got hit with a "refresh to continue farming with fresh updates" box for the first time in a long time and when the game reloaded I was informed that they'd taken my "extra" shady trough. No suspension, just oops you weren't supposed to have that. I had to scramble to bring my animals down to my new limit. Why? Because their game code is so sloppily written that it glitches left, right, and center and then they punish the players for it. Not exactly the best business model to follow.

Picture?type=square

Glitch or no glitch Bob Fisher is getting annoying. I now have 4 of him at my trick or treat stand every time I log in. This is ridiculous!!!! Funny thing is until I chewed on zynga about my crop dryer that still only dries 12 when it has been posted on here by Alan Attebery that he got it straight from zynga themselves that it is supposed to dry 18 I only had 1 Bob Fisher. After complaining I now have 4. I don't cheat ever. I refuse to.

Picture?type=square

I agree with Alan Attebery--Zynga wrote and owns the game--they can see any and everything. They could write code that could have them see the same screen we do and watch everything we do--IF they wanted to. I cannot imagine them bothering. They normally create "nets" that simply catch anyone participating in suspicious behavior they identify. And suspend anyone who is caught in that net. They did that some years ago on Yoville, when thieves were stealing people's collectible items. And if you got caught but were not guilty, they review your case and reinstate you. The nets are always a bit broader than the activity. But they don't need "Bob Fisher." I had 4 Bobs ("leaving in 8 hrs") at my stand when I logged-in this afternoon. Using the avatars of FV2-only friends. So that probably explains the glitch. Fun to think of them as spies tho...;)

Picture?type=square

My Bob Fischer is also using one of my neighbor's pictures, says "Leaving in 8 hrs" and when I click on it, it brings me to my Trick or Treat stand. I think Alan may be right.

Picture?type=square

5 days ago, i posted 'bout seeing bob fisher in my farm after 2 days they took my 2nd shady trough ( which i purchased in goodwill) which i built with help from fv2 friends. So, how come such a glitch took a note of my farm buildings??

Picture?type=square

So that second ceramics oven they keep nagging me to place could get me suspended? Zynga does not need a visible spy to see what you are doing. They have full access to your account and every action you take on your account at any time. It's a matter of if they bother to look or not. When a games econemy starts to get skewed they take a look and see what is going on.
