For those of you reading the title of this post and suddenly screaming, "WHAT? FARMVILLE 2 IS ENDING?" Well, you don't have to worry. The game is not ending.

But my participation in FarmVille 2, as well as in Gamers Unite!, has ended.

While this may seem like a sudden announcement to you all, the truth is that this has been a decision in the making for several weeks. I have come to realize that I need to refocus some of the priorities in my life, and FarmVille 2 ended up on the chopping block. While it is a game that I still very much enjoy playing, it is also a game that requires you to play nearly every day unless you want to get punished (withering crops, County Fair level drop, etc.). It is that aspect of the FV2 that really resulted in my deciding that it was time to stop playing.

Once the decision to stop playing FarmVille 2 was made, the decision to leave Gamers Unite! seemed to be a natural extension. I have left GU! twice before, both times after I stopped playing whatever Zynga game I was playing at the time. Back then, though, the leaving of GU! was accidental, a result of not having anything drawing me to GU! each day. No game meant there was no real reason for me to visit GU! each day, which ended up with me being gone for several weeks in a row. The difference this time is that I already know that will happen and feel it would be best for both me and for GU! if I formally resign instead of simply disappearing again.

It will now be up to you all to keep each other informed of new quests and their missions. The other Admins will take care of the FV2 portion of the Snag Bar, though you will need to report the new items as Snaggable via the My Feed page. Please also continue helping each other in the forums.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time playing FarmVille 2 and being a part of Gamers Unite! This site has been a big part of my life for over 4 years while the game has been a big part of my life for nearly 2 years. I know this is the right decision for me to make at this time, but it doesn't mean it was an easy decision.

I will miss all of you.

Sincerely,

Alan Attebery

I had no idea so many people consider this an addiction. Yeah, I play daily but last week when our internet went out for three days, I simply wasn't here. No big deal. I guess I can understand someone that has an addictive personality getting hooked. However, I can't live a life where I have no control. I don't even like to take pain killers (unless it's severe) because my mind says "how do you know you are getting better if you're always numbed to what you feel?".
If this is the life you've led for the past four years, then yes, it is time to move on. I wish you great joy in your future endeavors and I hope that your actions serve as a living testimony to others who feel they can't live without their games. God Bless!!! Now get to living!!

thank you

Thank you Alan! You are irreplaceable. Playing fv2 and gamers unite is never going t be the same again.. All the best in real life. virtual world or real life, I am sure you will shine,

I completely understand and thank you for all the time and energy that you have devoted to keeping the "addicts" informed. Enjoy the respite from the demands of the farm!

Thank you very much for all your help and information about the quests and other things in the game.
I fully understand that you want a "real life" after four years. Specially now when the game feels more like a work, and we get punished for skipping one day. When I started over 2 yrs ago it was fun and we don't needed to buy things. It's a different game today :( Good luck to you!!

Good Luck to you Alan! Change can be hard at first, but I hope you find a future as fun and rewarding as your dreams!

You rocked it bro! Gonna be missed, but, life does exist outside of our computers and priorities are priorities. Keep on rockin'.

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change....Thank you for all your help and input, you have been an awesome "game mod" and will be missed. Much luck in the "game" of real life :)

According to Dumbledore, the Mirror shows neither truth nor knowledge, and some have in fact gone mad from staring at it. Likewise, we waste hour after hour on these games. Some spend real money on them. One young Japanese couple spent so much time raising a virtual child that their own infant starved to death in the crib. These games are addicting and give you very little in return. But they are good to dull the senses and very addicting like drugs. Congratulations on returning to the world of men....and escaping this fantasy.

Good Luck and a big thanks for all your help and support.

Delighted for you! I wish I could do the same and get more of a life... I'll probably do so sooner rather than later and follow your example. Even my eyes have suffered with these games, so need to make the break. Best of luck to you. :)

Good luck and thank you for all your help!

You can look ahead for future missions on CEGamers.com they give extended information about upcoming guests. And I now see from Alan's post above that the other Admins will update the snag bar sometime with a little help from us by reporting new snaggable items.

Now, we won't know what we need to plant before the Tuesday quest is released. This is really going to bite and make use almost not finish the quest or not finish it at all. I will have to see how it goes but I will miss not finishing the quest in 1-2 days.
