Light-bulbWhat is the trick to high score on Captain's Challenge

A friend of mine is consistently scoring over 1,020,000 in the Captain's Challenge. She said that if you pick up the items in a certain order, then points are increased. She won't tell me the order though. Anyone know the trick to a higher score (besides accuracy and time spent, obviously)?

I get super high scores using a mouse. No touch screen. The best thing I can tell you is to make sure you play at least the 50 times to get the cash at the end. You get faster as you go along. My highest score was 1,202,230. my most recent high score was 1,147,120. I consistently get from 1,100,000 to 1,120,000 every time, so it's doable!

I used to try to maintain a quick but consistent speed on Captain's Challenges. But I have since found that pausing and then touching the three items, as listed from left to right, as quickly as possible gives me higher scores. I get into 900K level without a problem, and sometimes over the million mark... Which given my age and slightly slower reflexes is fine with me.

I play on PC using a mouse, my highest on Capt. Challenge was 1,080,00. So it is possible also with a mouse. My typical score after 5 tickets is 1.03M to 1.04M. So keep trying and pushing yourself.

Your friend is probably using a touch screen. If you are using a mouse, you will never beat her.

In the regular scenes, you can get a basic score of 454,000 if you go in order of top row left, top row middle, top row right, bottom row left, bottom row middle, bottom row right, then repeat.

In the regular scenes, if you find the objects in that specific order: in each column from left to right, find the object in the bottom row first, then the upper row. You have to go column by column, down and up, and you will systematically get basic score 452 000 plus the bonus, it is very easy to achieve higher than 650 000. For the captain challenge I haven't found any trick yet.

It helps to be able to play two handed

It may be obvious, but I haven't seen it stated. In order to attempt a high score, you have you play at least 3 times/tickets to get the full scene of hidden objects. And if you're going to play at least 3, then you might as well play 5, since 2 tickets will be returned to you when you play 5.

I've been practicing getting over 1mil and studying the score carefully. I found that Accuracy (not misclicking on any) is maxed at 140,000; Hint (not using any hints) is maxed at 187,500; and Completion (finishing before the timer ends) is maxed at 7.500. The only variable after these then are Item Score (depends on speed between clicked objects) and Time Score (total time it takes to clear the list). Needless to say, one needs to be fast. But it is slightly more important to get a high Item Score. To do that I click the 3 objects back to back very quickly to get the highest bonus x score (as indicated by the bar above the scene). What I found is that whenever I surpass 1 million, I am reading the 3 objects at once and then clicking on those objects in a row in rapid succession (eliminating the time for my eyes go back to the list). For instance, I can complete the challenge and have 10 sec to spare and still not get over 1 million. But if I use my strategy of grouping, I can be 2 sec slower overall and still get over 1 million and even misclick once! Hope that helps, and that people can try this and tell me if it works for them, too.

Since this thread appeared, I took it as a personal challenge to get over 1,000,000. I've been pretty successful, but it is hard. It helps if the scene is one I've already unlocked, so I can practice and memorize everything without costing tickets. Looking over the tagged scene on this site is very helpful. I do go by list order, and try to read all three items at once (so my eyes don't need to go back and forth from the list to the scene). Good luck.

I know that in regular chapter scenes if you go strictly left to right top row, then left to right bottom row, you will get more points than otherwise. I assume but don't know if that applies to Capt Challenges. I also find that if I turn off the volume on my computer, I play faster and score higher. ( I think that the sounds makes me play in rhythm, which slows my gameplay.) Hope that helps.

Go to this link where they post the current challenge. Study the picture, memorize, then play the challenge. http://gamersunite.coolchaser.com/games/pearl-x27-s-peril
