NEWEST INFO FIRST..

IS IT HAPPILY EVER AFTER IN FARMVILLE??

May 6-8, 2011 - Weekend Blues!

No more sharing sheep between farms?? Source:  Bab Hall  Guess what!!  Try adopting and then placing the lamb on your Home Farm?!  Is this Zynga's way of saying Happy Mothers DAy??  (Note that my little darling was an adopted gift from my daughter.. Can it get any worse than that!!)

So what does this mean??  It does not matter if you adopt from a neighbor or transfer your lamb from England to your Home Farm. It is LOCKED TO ENGLAND.. Which means right now you can only place your adopted lambs or transfer any lambs on your EC FArm.. ALL adoptions and transfer of lambs have been STOPPED // BANNED on your HOME FARM!!

Nothing can be done by Customer Service until this problem has been properly "investigated by the Developers" who are aware of the problem.. Which means.. No one knows what going on over at Zynga!!!

Click on the picture for a clearer picture or bigger fonts. -  The Customer Service agent that I spoke to even tried to put one of my lambs on my Home Farm and an error note/sign came up on her.. So that squashed that idea..   They shot them selves in the foot.. aGain!!  There is nOt whole alot of loVin going on here!!!

For an very Interesting read!!  Source:  Lauren WhoDat Anderson: Zynga Deals Fatal Blow to Farmville Sheep Breeding Craze

"Zynga’s unpopular move to sterilize illegal sheep were players calling Zynga out for being greedy, players pointing out that Zynga failed to see revenue gained from players buying love potions and bottles, players calling on Zynga to hire the hackers who made the cool sheep, and players expressing general outrage over Zynga’s shortsightedness and failure to realize how excited Farmville players were over all the special types of sheep."  NO KIDDING??  - Thank You Lauren!

UNRELEASED Badger Ewe! | FarmVille Feed ( WHY MAKE SHEEP IF WE CAN NOT BREED AS ANNOUNCED) Source: Clinton Stothard  I have to agree with him.  With Zynga's Track Record it will more than likely breed a light brown sheep with a "normal" black sheep face.. Guess we will have to wait and see...

"Well it still looks like any of the flasher we previously had are still breeding basic BLACK & WHITE sheep. ive heard from some people who bought the new market ZYNGA VERSION's and they are doing exactly the same for them, they are getting only black and white.

Have they gone to far and ruined there own sheep aswell or is this just a simple miss-calculation of DNA stranding or have thy not remembered to activate the breeding feature to allow for colour changes."
I think we have to wait for more comments from Clinton on this topic!!!  So stay tuned!!  CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO!

This is an interesting question on Lamb Adoption.  Is it on a 24 hr. timer/cycle or does it reset it self at a certain time?  LAMB ADOPTION: 1 LAMB PER DAY  Source: GoodFinger Ole Lauthner:  So it's like a 24 hours cycle to wait in order to adopt another lamb? Am I right?

We are finding out that the lamb adoption is not on a 24 hour set timer/cycle but in fact may reset it self at Midnight - PST / 3 am - EST / 8 am - GMT etc.  Rachell Hardison Phillips gives us the Time Zones and Ryan Johnson gives us the first insight on the actual reset adoption time!  Join in on the discussion  Click Here to follow the Link!  Next question will be how long is the adoption link good for?

I love catching these ErrOrs...... FarmVille Freak HAS CONFUSED ITS READERS...  It clearly had me confused when I read it after the official post!   "the statement lets us know that the 100 sheep limit applies to both your home farm and your English Countryside farm. In total you may only have 100 sheep at any given time."  HELLO!!  The "Official" statement from Farmville CLEARLY STATES 100 on each.. Perhaps they should change the statement to read... "100 sheep at any given time on each farm." Hmmm I wonder if they will retrack their statement?

Since her post yesterday they did add... "Update: Since the release of this post, Zynga has increased the Sheep Limit to 200."  is that the retraction?  I Find that a little strange.. Since the release of this post?? Nothing wrong  with saying Opps.. Sorry I read it wrong??

April 14 2011

Don L.Watkins came out with a Good Question for the day asking for help on Sheep Breeding....

"Does any one know why my flasher sheep don't flash even when a friend gives them to me?"

My answer to that is:

Yes the reason why it does not flash - change colors - electric even though it looks the same as the one your buddy has is because the other parent was a straight color/hooded sheep. So even though it looks like the flasher - change colors - electric it has NO MAGIC!! It is what I call A REJECT!

Harsh I know.. However when I adopt a New CooL Sheep - Ewe or Ram (does not matter which one I get..) I have to try a combination of sheep to get the same looking parent so it has a "mate/partner". So when I am trying to breed new sheep or trying new patterns with the flasher - change colors - electric you can usualy tell what you are getting by the color of the lamb.

If the color has different colors such as the the other normal parent (because I am trying to get a ram or an ewe of the opposite sex that was given to me.. ) I then hand them out as rejects.. Still looks pretty but it is not what I want and I have already reached/very close to my 100 limit.. If I am trying to get a specific sex for example a Ram from the same breed. I will REJECT the ewes by giving them up for adoption. "Some people's trash is other people's treasure!!"

UPDATE FROM THIS POST BELOW

Well I have to say the source down below  is right!  HOWEVER... Before you delete Any Sheep just refresh your farm and the count seems to correct it self..

                                                     HAPPY FARMING

Well this was an interesting read:  FarmVille Freak Poll: Sheep Breeding Limit 100 Source: CabbagePatchKid GameZebo

"After Sheep Breeding premiered, FarmVille Freaks fast and furiously bred sheep only to discover that we are only allowed 100 bred sheep on our farms."  Now we new that or if you did not know,  you now know there is a 100 limit.   Guess what...   It gets even better..

"For those of us who have hit the 100 limit and continue to breed more sheep (who can quit? it’s so addictive!) we are forced to sell sheep that we have spent time and precious Love Potions to breed. Now, while this is painful, there is more painful news to report:

Many FarmVille Freaks are reporting that their bred sheep on farm limit is fluid rather at the fixed 100 amount the in-game pop up tells us it is."

Fluid?  What does that mean??  "So in other words, famers are receiving the “Sorry Farmer! You can have 100 bred sheeps on your farm.” pop up when they have less than 100 sheep. For example, I have 89 bred sheep on my farm and receive the pop up, to breed another sheep I must sell one. The rumor is that the sheep we give up for adoption are counting against our 100 limit for a certain period of time, although we can’t be certain.

Farmers have reached out to Zynga Customer Support about the issue and were told that it was an unknown issue and they would look into it. So at this point no one can be certain if this is a glitch or an intended part of sheep breeding. If it is intentional, we that just stinks! Farmers love to help their neighbors create new and fun sheep by breeding one of their best to put up for adoption, like Flasher Sheep! It would really stink if giving up for adoption lowers our own bred sheep limit.

Currently farmers can only adopt one sheep per day, but are able to give as many as they like up for adoption."

Hmmmm... Yes I went back and counted my sheep.  I am also selling my sheep because it says that I have reached my limit.  Keeping in mind.. From this week's FarmVille podcast it was stated:

"Many of you have also asked about a breeding limit. Yes, there is a sheep breeding limit across both your Home Farm and your English Countryside farm. You’re currently limited to keeping a total of 100 bred sheep across both farms, which can include lambs, fully grown sheep, and lambs or fully grown sheep in your Sheep Pen and Gift Box. This limit does not include sheep bought from the Market or earned through a quest (in other words, “normal” sheep that have not been bred). There are technical and performance limitations that we are examining currently, and we may address this limit in the near future so please stay tuned!"

So I contacted Customer Support on Live Chat and this is the response I got.

"Several players have reported this too Vanessa, our Studio is trying to fix this problem with the Sheep Limit as soon as possible, I would really appreciate your patience in this matter." Not a lot of information on that answer!  However..

"I am attempting to resolve your issue by running your account through our troubleshooting program. For any changes to take effect, please sign out  of your account and close the current web browser you are using to play. Now reopen Farmville. Please let me know if your issue has been resolved."

Well I guess we will have to wait and see.. Any one else having this issue? - Stayed Tuned!

***  Well I have to say the source is right!  However,  before you delete any sheep just refresh your farm and the count seems to correct it self..   HAPPY FARMING

.
There is a New Ram (Purple Stripes!!)  for $30 FV Cash in the Market!  Now THAT IS GREAT NEWS!
.

But... It is very well hidden!!  Which made me wonder!  You need to click on Animals..  and go to the second page of Farm Animals to find it!   So if you missed it..  Go back and take another look..  (I would think it would be right next to the Purple Polka Ram...  Zynga - Go figure)  Happy Breeding!!

.
**  However... I am a little annoyed not at the position of the new ram but I tried 4 different straight colored hybrid sheep that are bred from original Zynga white and black Sheep and orange ewes bought from the market.  Nothing!!  I drew blanks!!  All straight colors..  Now if "patterns the lamb may inherit are determined by the father alone. Patternstion of patterns— are never inherited from the mother."  Why am I shooting blanks?  Or did they make this guy shotting blanks on purpose??  lol  Guess we will have to wait till I get my next batch of love potions to figure that one out!! Cause there is no more LoVin on My FaRm going on ToNight!  What a gReAt way to start a Monday Morning!! - Stayed Tuned!!
.
Well.. after picking up some FrEe LoVin from Customer Service.. We went through the whole process again!    Still drew blanks with the White and Black... But the Orange Ewe from the market worked like a charm!!

Then we went through the Hybrids...    Major success this time!  Is there some kind ViAgRa they use??

So all's well ends well!  Looks like it is a good way to start Monday with a LiTtLe ExTRa LoVin going a long way!!

.
April 10 2011

For those that have missed this week's FarmVille podcast Teresa Donald has given us the transcripts from the forum!  Go check it out!  There is lots of information about English Countryside, sheep breeding and much more. It is great information to read up on in case you missed anything! Click Here!  PODCAST TRANSCRIPT WITH NEWEST SHEEP INFO.

.
Now in this podcast they are saying that the gender of the lamb is based on "pure chance"??  Hmmm... it goes on..  "However, if you get a lamb of a particular gender three times in a row, the next lamb you get will be of the opposite gender. So if you get three ewes in a row, the next lamb you get is guaranteed to be a ram."  Now I know that some people here will argue that point.  Note what they say at first about the "gender of the lamb is based on pure chance"...   So have these odds gotten better??  From what I have read in the other forums.. No!  If you do four (4) sheep's in a row.. Yes! but if you stop and come back it seems to re-set it's self and you start all over.. "Pure Luck" as to where you start back all over again.  So maybe they have to explaine this one a little bit better to the General Public!!
.
"Next is the quesany possible patterns the lamb may inherit are determined by the father alone. Patternstion of patterns— are never inherited from the mother." I DISAGREE...  With only one female electric sheep (Ewe) that had stars on it. I was able to cross breed her with a straight color Ram and get a STAR SHEEP (which was adopted from a friend with out my knowledge!) OHHH!! BUT WAIT!!  Maybe that is only the case with the Zynga Sheep.  So have NO FeaR lol.. It can be done!  (Note that we are talking about patterns, not costumes or colour schemes.)
 .

Note:  My sheep are seperated so that my Pure/Hybrids/Adopted Electric Star/Colour Changing Star Sheep are kept seperatly as well as the off spring from the parent ewe/rams so that I can keep track of their heritage. I think I need a moat around the bottom area! Alcatraz in the making lol
.
"Lastly, what about the colors? Are they randomly chosen or is there some hidden method? As it happens it’s a little bit of both. The lamb’s two potential colors are chosen from one of the parent’s two colors. Those base colors can then be shifted to a certain range of colors, based around that base color. For instance, a light purple color can be shifted all the way to a reddish shade or a deep, dark purple, or somewhere in-between. There’s a lot of room for variation, so between the purples of Brutus the Ram (which you can get via a quest in the English Countryside) and the generally available white sheep that you can buy in the Market, eventually (and with some luck) you’ll be able to get many of the colors you want."  The coloring comments I fully agree with.  Its based on a color chart.  I find that the hybrid (an offspring resulting from cross-breeding) white sheep's (both rams and ewes) work the best for vibrant colors! It also works best when you want to lighten the color of the sheep. I love my white polka dot white Ram!  He has determined the colors of the Zynga Sheep's for me and other GU Members this week!   Without Angela Mudges up dates on her DNA Charting I would not have gotten this far.
.
And Last... There are technical and performance limitations (In other words... They can not handle the overload yet.) that we are examining currently, and we may address this limit in the near future so please stay tuned!"  Every thing is counted except for the ones you bought or received through a quest. (still smirking at the "normal" comment) This makes sense now... I was wondering if they had increased it because I have more than 100 sheep on my England Farm.
.
However Please Note:  They said this limit may change!! I know that many farmers by now would have over 1000 sheep on their Farms!  Dont forget the HoArDeRs!!   So I agree with the limit for now if they can not handle massive amounts of sheep on the second farms.  Look at how much stuff we have on our Home Farms! Also... think of all the extra out of sync and the heavy lagging we would experience.  Hopefully they will be able to change the limit soon and give us an increase!
.

Note that April brings up a good point.  No where in the quest does it give you a ram to put on your regular farm.  There are some suggestions with regards to this so go and read what she says.  My solution/comment is "You don't have to adopt your lamb/ram. Before placing the lamb on your farm.. just click the refresh button to reload your farm.. when you go back in it will be in your gift box.. HOWEVER.. it is locked for your English Farm............ and can not be placed on your Reg Farm as of now... WILL THEY CHANGE THAT??"

EASY INSTRUCTIONS - HOW TO BREED YOUR YOUR SHEEP

Ealier before:  Look closely at the white sheep. It has a light beige brown marking along the bottom of its belly. THIS MARKING IS VERY IMPORTANT. Sheep with this belly marking are the most useful. They breed true to colour. White sheep equivalents are SPAGHETTI, SNEEZY, SCHOOLED, SCARED, RIDING, BIRTHDAY. They are all just plain old white sheep with a costume on them. No need to trying to get these they will only work the same as an ordinary white sheep.

Now, Look at BRUTUS. He doesn't have the belly marking. His marking is around his neck, chest and along the top of his back. It is the colour of this marking that will breed from these sheep, not the colour of the body.
.
I break my sheep up into two groups, BELLY MARKING and COLLAR MARKING. It's the BELLY MARKING ones that work the best. RAMS determine pattern. Hope I have been gifted ewes with patterns and from those ewe have started my pattern breeding, It has worked.

HOODED AND BELLY MARKED SHEEP - MAYBE SEPARATE YOUR SHEEP INTO THESE GROUPS

Angela, you've got two hooded ewes on the left and a belly ewe on the right. Now that you can tell the difference it's important to understand the colours of the hooded ewes. Your two ewes only have the one colour in them, green, although a slightly different tone in each one.

The ewes behind them, for example the blue and greens ones, they have two colours. The hoods are blue. When you use theses two tone sheep (blue and green example) the hood colour is the colour that will determine the colour that comes from that ewe into the breeding.
.
The two tone hooded sheep are good to use in swirl breeding as you can then get those two colours coming out in the lamb. The single coloured hooded ewes are also okay to use in swirl breeding but you'll get two-tone green similar coloured lambs, still very pretty though. And here's a big tip when breeding the swirls, ALWAYS put whatever colour you want the lambs to be on the BOTTOM.
.
DISCO SHEEP
.
I was lucky enough to find a friend in America and one in Australia that had disco balls sitting on old farms. I've used them in all sorts of combinations. They don't seem to work so don't break your necks trying to get them. Every now and then they grow like ghost sheep so Ithink something is going to happen with them in the future. Maybe
that's where the glowing sheep will come from, because the pulsing of the growing is the same.
.
GETTING LIGHT GREY RAMS
.
If you get a coal miner ewe from the underground storage and breed her (click on her first) to BRUTUS you will eventually get a light grey RAM (LOOKS LIKE A WHITE SHEEP BUT IT'S NOT) . These rams are extremely useful. Every farm should have one. You can use these rams to get the lighter coloured sheeps. You also use them with the BELLY marked base coloured sheep, navy, yellow, orange, grape, shamrock, luv, sunny etc, (yes, there's more colours) any ewew that has a belly marking, to make lighter coloured sheep.
.
GRAPE SHEEP
.
If you get some friends together you can do a coop and get the grape sheep. This is one of the most handy sheep you can have. Always click on it first using breeding it.
When you get a new pattern on your farm, always go back to the base coloured sheep (BELLY MARK) to use to breed up your lines. The base coloured sheep are the ones with the BELLY markings. fv have marked the sheep differently, use this to help you keep track of what to breed with that. - Charms

Now from our New GU member (Welcome!) Charms Cameron, who has been very generous to to let us know what she found out:
.
"I noticed in the photo at the beginning of the feed all the sheep in the barn. There are sheep in there that we don't need to be breaking our necks to get because they act exactly the same as a basic ordinary white sheep.
.

Look closely at the white sheep. No need to trying to get these they will only work the same as an ordinary white sheep.
.

Hope I have been gifted ewes with patterns and from those ewe have started my pattern breeding, It has worked.
.
There's heaps more information as well. Which sheep do you click on first when doing your breeding? it depends on what pattern you're trying to breed and what colour combination."

@ Liza a lot of people shared your views on that.. Spending money for the first time.. It was a lot of fun for sure.. they do seem to be making a mess out of things..  Every week there has been different drama.. The lamb "lock down" as they are calling it just adds more to it.. Glitch or not.. Tighter controls as far as I am concern..  Just by looking at the stats.. do not know how they are going to get the players back that have left after this mess..

I, for one, am SICK of the ZYNGA drama mobile! Farm Ville was actually fun until they once again had to fix what wasn't broken. I actually spent money on the game I normally wouldn't and will NEVER again! They are not changing things for the better but making it worse! If you would like to make contact here is alturnitive ZYNGA number & address :

The other way you can Jane.. you can place the lamb in EC but not on your Home FArm..

Picture?type=square

Yes Jane.. does not matter if you adopt or transfered.. It is LOCKED TO ENGLAND.. Which means right now you can only place your adopted sheep or lambs for that matter.. on EC.. ALL adoptions and transfer of lambs habe been BANNED!!  Till this problem has been futhured investigated by the Developers.. Surprised

Picture?type=square

I noticed the "locked to england" message, so does this mean we cannot drag an offspring made in EC to Home farm and vice versa-that is not fair, that's the beauty of it. I think its very mean to do that.

Colour toning is to be expected... very nice job. The green I love on the flashing they give such vibrant colours! Good Job!

Picture?type=square

male and female versions of 2 combos

I will carry on mixing the flashing hood with all the different types of ewes i have and update you on them for you to add to your chart of combinations vanessa.

Picture?type=square

It is the way we all started... even with the new breeds trying to cross breed them.. with the hybrids till we can get something similar but of a different sex.. then you can breed them together to keep or to trade. its the way to do it.

Picture?type=square

im a newbie and i understood most of it.
Im breeding the same pairs of rams/ewes till i get both male/ female versions then move onto another pair.
takes a little longer this way but its good to see every single different type and then make a decision which ones i would like to keep and sell.
