Light-bulb Frontierville Canning Master Missions (not a joke afterall)

***Update, apparently these missions have started to roll out, so it wasn't a joke after all ; (

Ok, I was a little scared to post this since it is early and after all it is April Fool's Day. It is SUPPOSE TO BE an upcomming mission for April but it is a bit unreasonable. I found it posted on several different sites so I have my fingers crossed,  but Notice how high the food count is? If it is released I really see some changes in those numbers.  Let's just hope this is not some cruel joke (except maybe the numbers). I do believe I'm going to hold off on purchasing tons of peppermint for this one.

I cant agree more with all of you.... it is very frustrating and NO FUN AT ALL to have to try so hard in a game.... its supposed to be relaxing and pleasurable..... instead, we are all running in a wild goose chase to complete impossible tasks in missions, not to mention UNFAIR to lose all that food and energy,
I am just wondering, is anyone from Zynga reading this????? if not they should..... or they will get unpleasantly surprised when people will stop playing..... I have thought of it many times....

@ZYNGA: GUYS? NOT SO MANY MISSIONS ALL AT ONCE!!!!! TAKE PITY ON US.....

A lot of people have been having problems finishing the canning missions. I was one of them. But with the help of some great tips and gifts of some neighbours I managaged to finish it and unlock the food part of 50.000 food in part 3 and 100.000 food in part 4 for 1 HORSESHOE each and KEEP all my food. I made this note to help you all out. It would be a shame not to pass these on and let zynga take all our food. I used these tips for part 3 and 4, but I guess it will work for part 1 and 2 as well, but those 2 parts don't require that much food as part 3 and 4. Okay here is what you need for part 3: - About 700 oxen. If you can place them all at once. I placed them in every possible place any way I could. Look at the pictures I included. These are the oxen I used for part 4. But if you can store all 700 oxen at once you don't have to buy that many in part 4. If you can't place 700 oxen in 1 go then remember you have to repeat these steps again for part 4 of the missions and you'll need 7 animal harvest boosts again and 7 animal ready boosts. Don't forget to use the green turn tool to turn oxen and place them in a smaller place. If you look at the pictures you'll see I have them placed everywhere and in every way. I sold my pigs and cows (when I did the oxen trick for part 3, sold some fences and that way I could place more oxen. 700 oxen give you 115.500 food once you sell them all, so it is enough for part 3 and 4. So if you can, sell some gates or plants or other decorations which you can later buy again or (adult) pigs, goats, geese and cows, it will create more room and you can later buy them again in the market once you are done. This way you only need 7 of each boost. Otherwise you'll need to buy more oxen for part 4 and you would need 7 of the animal harvest and animal ready boosts. And since some of the collectibles are rare, it's better to only need 7 instead of 14. ;-) - 7 animal READY boosts = instantly making all animals ready to feed (those come from trading in the bear collection. So you'll need 7 bear skulls, 7 bear teeth, 7 bear meat, 7 bear pelts and 7 bear claws). - 7 animal HARVEST boosts = instantly feeding all animals (those come from trading in the barn collection. So you'll need 7 salt lick, 7 lanterns, 7 milk jugs, 7 feed pans, 7 hay hooks). It takes 7 feeds to get oxen from baby to adult. That's why you need 7 of each boost. If you don't have enough of the items for the boosts, place those items on your wishlist and share it. If you are lucky neighbours will help you out, by sending the items. I suggest you start with the food part first, that way you can't "finish" the missions by accident if you have already complete the other requirements. Once you unlock the food part for 1 or 2 horseshoes, you food will be save and it won't be taken away from you. Okay, when you have placed all the oxen follow these steps - Step 1: start with an ANIMAL HARVEST BOOST, it will automatically feed all your animals on your homestead. With all the oxen and other animals it may take a while for all the coins and xp and food to appear and it might slow down the game a bit, but only for a few minutes. - Step 2: Once the coins and xp etc have dissapeared, use an ANIMAL READY BOOST. It will automatically make all your animals ready for feeding again. Switch these steps until your oxen have become adults. Then start selling them. Adult oxen give you 65 food and 1100 coins when you sell them, so you earn back the money they cost you and you get a lot of food. - Step 3: Be carefull not to sell too many in 1 go. Keep an eye on the food level. If you are around 49.900 food, then stop with selling oxen. Try to get as close to 49.990 food as you can by trading in some collections that give food or harvest fruit trees that give food. Once you get around 49.974, you should be able to unlock the food part for 1 horseshoe. :-) Then you can go on with the other requirements (collecting 30 jars and feed 300 chickens) and once you complete those tasks, you are done with that part and you will be half way there for part 4. A great tip to tend you chickens for part 3 of the missions. If you have a chicken coop and you placed chickens in there, click on the coop, click on FEED CHICKENS and then adjust how many chickens you want to feed and click on feed. It doesn't matter how many energy you have. The trick is to have just 1 energy in the energy bar, then do as I just said and if for example you have 100 chickens stored in your coop, then adjust the ammount to 100 and click on feed. It will feed all the 100 chickens with just 1 energy. Even though it says it will cost 100 energy. This is just a great way to feed the chickens in the coop and with only 1 energy. Imagine if you have 1600 chickens stored in your coops, you can feed them all at once by using just 1 energy. ;-) It can be repeated every 30 minutes. So if you have just 1 coop with 100 chickens it will take you an hour and a half to feed all 300 and all with just 3 energy. :-) Note: the animal harvest boost does not work on the chicken coop, so you would have to wait 30 minutes between each feed. Items you need for part 4: - If you didn't have enough room for 700 oxen, you have to buy more oxen. Calculate how much food you need to reach 100.000 and devide that by 165, that number you get is the ammount of oxen you still need. For example you are at 80.000 food, it is 100.000 - 80.000 = 20.000 / 165 = 121.21 which is 122 oxen. :-) - You would need 7 animal ready boosts again - You would need 7 animal harvest boosts again - You need 2 fruit tree ready boosts = instantly making all fuit trees ready to harvest/ water (including peppermint trees).( Those come from trading in the mule collection. So you'll need 2 bedrolls, 2 bridles, 2 feedbags, 2 saddlebags and 2 harnesses). - About 170 peppermint trees. - Step 1: If you had 700 oxen, you can continue with selling the oxen for part 4. But rememeber to keep an eye on your food level. Same things goes, if you get around 99.900 food, start repeating step 3. If you didn't have enough room for all 700 oxen you have to buy more oxen and repeat steps 1 to 3 again. Also remember to keep an eye on your food level. That is why it's easier to do the food part first so that you can't finish the missions by accident because you went over the food target. ;-) Once you get around 99.900 food trade in a few collections that give food or harvest some fruit trees and once you are around 99.974 food you can unlock it for 1 horseshoe and you will keep your food. Again, it's easier to start with the food part first, that way you can't finish it by accident and loose all your food. If you have some adult oxen left, you can either sell them or keep them after you unlocked the food part for 1 horseshoe. - Step 2: Plant the 170 peppermint trees. Once you are done planting, use a fruit tree ready boost and water/ harvest all your peppermint trees. Once you are done, repeat this step and you are done with the 500 peppermint trees. Because watering your peppermint trees also count towards the mission. Once you are finished and you have 100 cloth you are done with the missions and you should have over 100.000 food left. :-) Good luck and if you have any questions, just let me know. And feel free to spread these tips around to help others. :-)

no way.. I will stop.. I had the little hope that after the 15.000 food nothing else will happens.. but how the hell should I tend 300 chickens with all these coyotes/foxes and next to this have 50.000 food if they take all food aways after finishing this mission?
I always liked the missions.. but THIS one is f*** b***sh****

Picture?type=square

Another way to gather food is to go to the Trading Post and trade in some the extra stuff you have accumulated (snowman's carrot noses, etc.)

Picture?type=square

These missions really sick i mean i have just started misson two of this and then found this link about all the food I am going to have to get. I guess it is a good thing i have friends that send me lots of lunches, dinners, and breaksfasts. And I am going to be buying and selling a lot of Ox's and Cows because you can get a lot of food from selling your adult cows and ox's. but I am not happy about this at all. I was saving my food for when i working on my exspansions but now I have to use it for missions this sucks wonder what the pay out will be for completing these missions.

Picture?type=square

two days ago I was down to 19,000 but since I've been focusing more on food and using meals that were gifted to me I made it up to 31,000. Of course I decided to complete the first part of the mission so I'm down again. It will take time but I'm going to continue with the peppermint and peach trees and planting crops, and just forget about it until its time. I am selling anything extra I have that pays out in food, like the winter bears that I just had stashed in my inventory. It doesn't amount to much but its a start.

Picture?type=square

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with an issue about this mission. I have tried to gather food, I started out with about 2500 food, now when I do anything to get more food they take more away, how sad, now I only have 550 food, the more I collect they take way more away. so how did you all get 5000 food?

Picture?type=square

I am on the second part of the mission and once I finish this there is no way I am going to complete the other parts. This is crazy. I used so much food for my expansion and I am not about to use it all.

Picture?type=square

Glad I read this! Guess I won't harvest anymore apple trees!

Picture?type=square

@Terry, I do think it is do'able but I am down to 19000 food since the expansion so its just going to take a lot of time. I don't think the payout is enough for this mission. @Joe... I thought about that but I'm sure if I continue playing I will eventually mess up and complete the goal. Unless of course I delete all my apple trees which is a thought, lol. I know eventually I"ll have to harvest the tomatoes for something.

Picture?type=square

The missions are true. Im starting second mission, it asks for 15,000 food . I just won't harvest the apple trees. you can still play anyway. Just don't finish this mission, or it will take away all your food.

Picture?type=square

Some people (and i really mean a few) feel the master canning mission is Do’able however, when all their neighbors quit….They will see this is not much fun anymore. It already happend in Cityville….they should never mess with the energy. All of these games are boring when you can’t get enough energy to complete the tasks at hand. I buy horsehoes because I like to buy unique items for my little homestead. I sometimes use them to complete missions to keep from having to move all my stuff around after I spent hours to get it just the way I like it. I will not buy them for energy because I lost all of mine to a mission with no real reward! This is NOT Do’able to me or my friends.

Picture?type=square

this mission sux big time, and im not about to do this mission, and one step ahead of them buy using up and giving away my butter, cuz the next thing you know there going to come up with a mission for tomatoes

Picture?type=square

okay they just want to get rid of ppl stockpiling food like they did with the chkn farming

Picture?type=square

According to Frontiervillelegend.com these missions are starting to roll out, so look out!

Picture?type=square

@barbara... Thats exactly what I was thinking, If the mission is not a joke I'm sure the food count is.

Picture?type=square

180,000 food??? I hope it is a aprils fools joke
