by Tonya Collins - May 11, 2011 Star_s3,188 views

We will now have a place to put our animals! Thank goodness because we can all use the room!! We will be able to store adult Goats, Sheep, and Pigs. The Pen will allow us to feed up to 99 animals in one place and when collecting the bonus you have a chance at breeding a rare white goat, grey sheep, black pig, and more.

There are 4 missions to guilde you through the construction and teach you how this feature will work.
I. This Little Piggie

Tend 15 pigs

Have or place a livestock pen

rewards: 500 xp, 50 food

----

II. Baa Baa Black Sheep

To build the livestock pen you will need 15 waterbuckets, 15 grain buckets, 2 breeder's digest, 10 wooden posts, 10 woven wire, 10 feeding troughts.

The live stock pen also comes with a new collection. The reward for this collection is 50 xp, and 5 energy.  The items are feedbag, loose straw, Ear tags, clippers, and dewormer.

I've been doing this with the pen and the chicken coop. I haven't tried to sale any from the pen for missions yet. I'm glad to know it actually is counting them. It will be much easier!

Picture?type=square

I don't know if anyone else noticed that, but you can feed your animals in the pen even without any energy at all and still get the rewards (money collectibles energy etc.). and as for selling them, I haven't noticed the money it gives, but it counted on MY mission. sold 50 sheep and counted each and every one, days ago.

The only thing I have managed to get from the pen is one grey sheepFrown If I wanted to "breed" my animals I would have stuck with Farmville!

It is also being said that selling from the pen is not counting towards missions... I'm guessing (hopping) this is a temporary glitch.

Not only do you NOT get any food when selling from the pen I was only getting paid 56 coins instead of 300 when selling the sheep today. Lucky I noticed on the first one then experimented a bit to make sure.

IMPORTANT: Some players are reporting that no food is giving from selling animals directly from the pen. Not sure if this is a bug but pay attention and if you are not receiving food remove them from the pen before selling.

I'm really surprised that we didn't have to go through a great ordeal to upgrade the pen to hold more animals. I never expected it to hold so many. I'm at about 300 now and if its like Brad mentioned I still have a long way to go!

Picture?type=square

@Sheri - that wasn't an "upgrade". It was an option given to some players as a test but it never worked, and the devs have never taken that screen away.

Picture?type=square

How in the world do you get the upgrade to be able to get the "take a part you need" option when answering requests? My son has it, but he doesn't remember being asked to upgrade or anything; he said it was just there one day. This is pretty rude on Zynga's part because it creates an unfair advantage over players who have to continuously post requests to get the item they need. I really like the game, but I'm getting ready to stop playing it with all of the problems that I've had; i.e. not getting credit for completing requests, a ridiculous amount of items that need to be obtained from other friends who take but never give, etc. etc.

Picture?type=square

its unconfirmed by me but supposedly someone from zynga forums has 500 of each 3 animal type stored...i will try it next time i get 9 animal harvest/ready boosts gathered

Picture?type=square

The store 100 animals can be achieved by taking them out and putting them back it but it's tedious - one animal at a time

Picture?type=square

I'm up to 212 and have some pigs about ready.

Picture?type=square

Still trying to figure it out. I have 125 so far. I actually thought it was 100 at first. I've searched everywhere and no one seems to know.

Picture?type=square

Does anyone know how many animals can be put in the livestock pen?

Picture?type=square

since you don't need the friend to reply to the request on the book, you only need to send the two requests, I choose two people that I know block games, not hard to do because most of the people that don't play games block them, and that satisifed the request, you probably won't get credit until you refresh the game.

I posted this in another thread, but as I was so annoyed by it (and I see I am not alone) I thought it would be helpful to post here as well.

You don't need to get people to join Frontierville in order to receive your digests, you just need to have sent two requests. It doesn't matter if they accept or not. And that's it!! As soon as you send the requests, refresh the page, and voila! all done!

Tip: For people not wanting to spam their friends, if you have added friends only for gaming purposes, i'm sure they'd be more understanding of your spam, as opposed to people you know in real life who don't play facebook games and therefore might be more annoyed by it.

Picture?type=square

The livestock pen seems to have a glitch like the chicken coop. If you are feeding one type of animal, say 30 sheep, but don't have enough energy, it will still give you credit for all of them!

Picture?type=square

there is a way to get the 2 breeder's digest without asking non members of frontierville to join, the way to do it is by helping others by sending them the things they ask for.

so if someone from your friend list asking for lets say a wooden post, just have a look at the other rewards to claim for that item as it could be listed in those 4...or just click on the web address again for a new set of 4 items

Picture?type=square

I wouldn't have thought they would have done that again after all the fuss and complaints that they received the last time they had a mission that required "spamming" . I don't know about this one but one of the last missions like this it just had to be a non neighbor, not a non player. From my list I will say it looked more like non players though.  They really should find a better way to "advertise" instead of having us do their dirty work if you ask me.

@barbara ya I know...it was bad enough having to ask friends for every little thing and now to ask people who laugh at the idea i play this game for help on it is just plain retarded, I already filed a complaint with the email ticketing, and there are plenty of rants on the zynga forums, hopefully they change it...i just went ahead and used 20 horseshoes bc I wasnt dealing with the headache of having to ask people I KNOW dont want to play this game for help. Bad marketing.
