I've clicked directly on their tails for hits, had multiple on the property, etc. I truly think this is all related to the trap. I'm ignoring the quest, too frustrating. I've learned to ignore the gift-a-pult and have quest from four others in progress, so plenty to keep me busy.

The same happened to me. I could get any rat tails after trying for over 10 times until i started hitting them on their tails and wow it worked every time i banished a rat.

I was stuck with one tail left. I then summoned a rat close to my animals so that the animals were red. Once banished, I got the rat tail.

hit them on the tail, it really works..i was having the same problem and someone here commented on hitting on tail works, lucky me that I even got 2 tails out of 1 rat...try it....oh and try to have at least 3 rats.

i am over 50rats i banished and now on 7 days and still not even 1/if they not going to let us get any without buying with real cash/then they could atleast let us close the quest down/i don't have any to sell as it took me three days to get the last munch=3/at the rate i going it should take 3 months to get the 8 lol

I had the same problem, so i sold a few tails untill I had 2 left, and after that the tails became more frequent
