Light-bulbThe Prize Pig Pavillion, Missions and Builidng

by Tonya Collins - May 25, 2012 Star_s4,004 views

To get started you will need to build your pig pavillion which has 3 build stages. Then you will need to buy a prize pig. Prize pigs unlock in the market as missions progress or can be purchased for horseshoes.  Every pig gets two owners and appears on both your homesteads! If they feed it hog chow it will grow on your homestead as well!

Hog chow is made of ground corn dogs (found harvesting corn dogs and sometimes corn) and shortning which comes from friends.
After 1 week or after your pig has been fed 32 times it will be time to weigh them! Weight is determined by how much they have been fed and the prize you will recieve! A pig weighing 333 LBS or above will be considered a prize pig.

I have 48 Adult Geese and tend them daily and CANNOT get a goose feather!!! Any suggestions???

I have done 3 pigs, each above 333lbs, but my mission still says 2 out of 3... help??

OK, I'm limiting myself to only 2 Prize Pigs at a time, and I'm being choosy about who I partner with. It's still nigh on impossible to reach 333. To feed 32 times in 7 days, you and your partner would each have to feed that pig 2.3 times per day. Even if you only raised only 1 pig at a time, it would be difficult to get that much Hog Chow.
I'm extremely frustrated by the Invite Friends bit. Whether you click on the box above the pig or use the Pig Pavilion menu, it only works once in every 3 days or so. By that time your pig has already wasted 3 days of growth time.

I have done 4 pigs to Blue Riband standard, but my mission keeps resetting to 2 out of 3 and taking the HS's from me, anyone else having this problem

I have had several of mine shrink but not just dissapear when fed. No one is exactly sure what makes a pig weigh more than another but it is thought that the faster you are able to feed them the bigger they will be. There also might be a trick when weighing them. The little hand on the scale moves and some people say that where it is when you click the weigh button makes a difference.

some of my pigs seem to have burst!!!!! can that happen???? while I was feeding them they turned reddy and then disappeared!!!!!! but me too have never managed to weigh any pig more than 300..... cant figure it out.....

I'm getting pretty fed up with Pioneer Trail....the Prize Pig seems to only be for people that can buy the specialty pigs and can buy the sugary stuff to feed them. I have spent most all the horseshoes I could come up with on feed and still can't break 300# on scale. This game is getting more and more like Farmville in requiring use of real money, which I do not have.

What are we supposed to do with Prize Pigs after weigh-in?

Picture?type=square

I have raised quite a few pigs and the only ones that went over 333 lb was the cookie dough and the spicy pig. None of hte pink pigs made it.

@Jeanet, there is a known glitch that is causing the pigs to shrink, when they do they also lose their cute little acceries :( Hopefully a fix will be rolled out soon.

@Paula Evans, a pig is ready to be weighed once it has been fed 32 times or after 7 days, which ever comes first. Even if a pig has been fed the entire 32 times it still might not win the blue ribbon. This seems like more luck than anything else.

Picture?type=square

still 3 days left to grow my pig then cant feed it just weigh it needless to say it was not over 333 pounds why is this surely you should weigh pigs when the 6 days are up any one else had this happen

Picture?type=square

if you keep feeding it, it will turn into an adult that you can weigh. I have weighed some small pigs that weighed over 300 lb.

Picture?type=square

Why, why does a big pig suddenly turns small? I fed it so often, my corndogs are gone and my pig is as small as if it was bought.... Don't like it
Starting again doesn't change a bit, it stays small. Iwill put no more effort on this...
