A trick I use to protect resources?? use what I call 'the sixth warehouse'
if you arent currently building a new ship for a fleet. . . you should always have your shipyard building one. WHY. Because unused ships are in the 'drydock' as I call it. You know. . .the area ships sit in when idle, or where you pick a ship to place into your fleets. Your dry dock will hold (I believe) up to 85 ships. . .so go crazy. . .
Need to dump a warehouse and no one around to take it. . .build the biggest ships you can. . .with all the goodies.
Chances are . . you will come up with better builds for your ships in the process.
When you are in dire need of resources. . .or need that little extra for a research or to repair your cruiser fleet. . .just scrap some of your ships. . .the res automatically goes into you warehouses.
Trick has always existed. . .but few have realized the simplicity of it. . . This trick will also allow you to free up one or two (or more) land squares From dismantling one or two of your warehouses that could be better used somewhere else.
