Question-whiteHate the Long Drawn Out Missions

Please_share
by Celestine Lloyd - Oct 02, 2012 Star_s1,862 views

I love Pioneer Trail, but I am sick of the long, long drawn out missions. I have to keep begging neighbors for gift requests, and people just do not respond to the requests posted on my wall. If I send a request directly to other players, they respond, but otherwise, I have to keep on begging. This makes the missions go on and on forever, and its annoying. Please, Zynga, make the missions shorter and with less begging.

I didn't realize so many people were in the same boat I was, I work full time so only have evenings and week-ends to play PT. As I read through your comments, you have all "hit the nail right on the head" as per my feelings. I loved the game when it started, but now, it's just ridiculous !!! Even if they would drop some of the stuff you needed to complete missions with collecting bonuses from buildings, or give you a break on the lengthy missions, that would be great. I will probably keep plugging away, but it sure is tough !!!

Picture?type=square

way too many missions. The missions usually have 5-7 sections to complete and then to draw more blood, they make you repeat several of them 2-4 times! I have missions from over a year ago that I haven't completed yet.

Picture?type=square

I play EVERY DAY! and since I work from home, I often play for HOURS! I have not received a gift from any of my neighbors in MONTHS. Everyone has quit playing and I'd had to revert to logging in to my mom's and husband's account just to send myself items. NOT FUN! I just logged in an aside from the 8 pages of goals I already had, now I have a new one...something about Bo! I am still working on LAST year's Halloween goals. UGH! I feel everyone's frustration....and just had to share mine!

I have refused to play PT for the last couple of months because there is no getting anywhere on it! I still have missions from LAST HALLOWEEN!!! I would regulary buy horseshoes, and now I refuse because that also gets you nowhere. Each item is 7 HS, you need 8 of the item, and it is a part for 5 needed. That is 280HS to finish 1 part of 1 mission. I know we asked for more missions, but they have gone overboard. It is no longer a game, it is now a full time job. Then they had us build a bunch of different buildings where I am only halfway done with most of them, as those are built in stages adn require so many parts for each stage. So frustrated with it. I have contacted Zynga, and apparently they do not care because I cannot be the only one complaining to them (obviously) but there are no changes. So I guess they can lose my $20 per month.

I totally agree, I have been playing forever and it feels like I am going nowhere fast, you used to build a building and then need help to upgrade it, now you have to beg just to finish it. I have fallen for their trick and spent real money but it still barely helped me in the big picture. I wish they would make it easier, it is becoming so that I do not even want to play. I am hoping this site will help get some of these missions done quicker so I can have fun again.

I also hate the long missions. I have been playing for a long time also. And I am still working on missions from a long time ago. You can not get anyone to help you with these missions. I just wish that instead of using horseshoes to get things that you need that you could use coins. I think the game would go a lot faster that way. And the missions keep coming faster and faster. You can not keep up. I am not spending money to play these games on here.

I have been playing for a long time and it seems like you get nowhere at all. It does really stink you have to keep begging for help and then when you get help it doesn't even show up. I have so many pages of mission's it freaking ridiculous!!! The mission's are way too long and not easy to complete. I've already quit this game a few times and am ready to quit again it's just more aggravating then fun. The game takes forever to load and what is up with the bug reports?? You report them but they fix NOTHING!!! I'm sick of begging n getting nothing and I'm for sure fed up with the game freezing up constantly...nothing has changed it's like they don't even care if you play or not this is why I don't spend MY money on this game

I have been playing Pioneer Trail since the beginning back when it was Frontierville. I really used to enjoy playing but it's becoming more and more frustrating. The missions are out of control. You have to beg people for items and are only allowed to request most items twice a day. Not to mention that the game takes so long to load and when it does finally load, you have to refresh because half of your buildings aren't there. I spent 4 hours last night waiting and refreshing the game and around 1:30am got disgusted and went to bed. How am I supposed to get animals fed that are required to complete missions? I have now been trying to load the game since 9:00am and it is now 12:30 and it still hasn't loaded. I hate to give up on something I've been playing for so long and spent so much time on but if things don't change soon, I'm done!

I so agree i have played for over a year and have not in the last few months because i am overwhelmed with all the quest, i still have last Halloween and Christmas quests not finished. i have been trying to expand my property for the last 6 months and can't get thru the quest, it used to be my favorite game. Cut down the quest get rid of old ones and i may play more often, like everyday again.

Picture?type=square

they don't want you to be able to finish missions easily they want you to frustrated enought that you will spent real money for a game . shame on them !!!!!!

I still love the game so much I play others accts for them. Yea the posting sucks, and the constant upgrades are getting old. I long for the 100k food mission again. If it wasn't for the snag bar and the one-click gifts, many of my friends would be out of luck. Thank you Gamers Unite for all those wonderful things.

If Zynga would give us more mission that we could do solo, or with only 2% of the items needed being gotten from other players, I think people would be able to work those mission easier. As some one posted earlier allowing the player to pick a level to compete would also be helpful. You could choose what you did based on either the rewards given or the work required. I like to go back and redo missions just because I like the rewards given. Or because the work needed is like what was needed on a previous mission.

I often wonder how many of the staff the works on Pioneer Trail actually play the game. You would hope they have the same problems we have.

I have played PT since the first day and I hate to give up. I no longer have time to actually visit neighbors, feed animals, etc. because I am so busy checking the status of missions and requesting and sending gifts. I have come to the conclusion that Zynga is placing all these misssions active so dedicated players will have to buy Horseshoes in order to get what they need to finish. The keep offering these expansions that are very costly when my computer can hardly handle the graphics on the size of my homestead now and crashes constantly when I try to play. I am losing all hope that this game will become fun again.

I play daily I help everyone answer every request sent to me I ma online for hrs at a time I have a group with active and helpful players feel free to add me and I will help u out so will my friends https://www.facebook.com/sara.j.moneer

I used to play CityVille and FrontierVille. I quit because the number of missions and the requirements were ridiculous and out of control...especially when you were limited on the number of times you could ask/beg for items.

The only game I play any more is FarmVille...I can add neighbors without adding friends. And even though the missions started increasing, if I don't finish a 'mission' or I don't want to play it...it will disappear.

But I don't spend the money like I used to...I got tired of Zynga not listening to players and so instead of spending a hundred a month, I maybe spend $5 every couple of months.

Picture?type=square

I also am tired of the "bundled" missions, I think Zynga started giving us so much work back when a lot of the players ere upset that they were running out of missions. I remember seeing the post asking for more missions but this is ridiculous!! I have nearly 1000 neighbors and I still can't seem to get the items that I need. I hardly ever successfully complete a timed mission. They really need to cut back on these bundles of missions.

Picture?type=square

I am feeling it, definately out of control. I love it but oh man. If you need a new neighbour please message. I hope pioneer trail listen to there loyal gamers.

Thank you to my new Gamers Unite friends. We are trying to help one another with the "infinite many" PT missions. Just when I think I might get to the end of a mission or the last phase of a building, I get 2 or 3 new missions. The buildings are killing me. Right now I am trying to focus on just a couple of missions but then we get "timed" missions. Also, I don't know how players do it - where are they getting all of the horseshoes to buy the number of crops that are needed? I get so frustrated when I spend the few horseshoes that I have on a crop and then when I harvest it, it doesn't return things I need like the Aloe or the Blackberry bush. GRRRRR

I played Pioneer Trail from almost day 1, and faithfully every day, but like everyone says here the number of quest got out of hand and the items you have to get OMG is so unbelievable. My friends just stop clicking on stuff anymore so i was unable to get the stuff i need for the quest and my GU didn't work on getting the feed goodies for PT so i finally stop playing about 6 month ago and have not been back since. PT was my favorite game. Wow did Zynga blow that.

Although I've never played Pioneer Trail, Zynga did something similarly stupid with Cafe World last year that finally caused me to quit playing.

When I was playing Cafe World, I was one of the people who liked to complete as many of the quests as I could. I did quickly learn to prioritize the quests, even keeping a spreadsheet with all the quest requirements that were active so I could see at a glance what needed to be cooked, how long it would take to cook, and how many more of each item I needed to cook. As a result, I was often able to double dip quests (cooking one dish that counted towards two quests) and could complete quests fairly quickly since I could plan ahead on what I wanted to cook the next day. Plus, I didn't have a problem throwing a Cafe Buck or two at a quest to finish a requirement that only needed one or two more items.

Unfortunatley, Cafe World got the bright idea to start tailoring the quest requirements to each individual, making them easier for those who didn't complete that many quests (or took forever to complete them) and harder for those who completed most of the quests (or completed them fairly quickly). As a result, the number of items needed for each quest shot up on me. And whereas I had been treading water before in keeping up with the quests, I quickly sank to the bottom of the ocean.

I begged Cafe World three times to put my quests on the easy level, explaining that the increased difficulty levels took away all enjoyment from the game for me. I tried to tell them that playing Cafe World used to be an enjoyable pastime for me, but all the quests recently had caused the game to begin to feel like a job. And the increased difficulty simply eliminated any joy I got from playing it.

Needless to say, they never reverted my difficulty level back to an easier one. After two more quests came out with extremely unrealistic requirements, I threw in the towel and haven't loaded the game since. That was over a year ago.

I do get that Zynga can be stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to these quests. With each of the games they release, a large number of people eventually complain about how bored they are with the game because there is nothing to do. They lament about how there are no quests to complete and say they are going to stop playing if nothing changes. I'm already seeing those complaints crop up in FarmVille 2 even though no one has gotten to a point where they have no quests to complete.

So Zynga, listening to these people and, maybe, realizing that these are the ones likely to spend money, start introducing more and more quests, and begin to make them harder and harder. That leaves people like me, who have a real need to complete all the quests, feeling overwhelemd by it all. We even feel left out to a point because we can't share in all the goodies that are being offered. So we stop playing in droves, which pushes the numbers for a game down. And Zynga's response to this happened seems to be to push out more quests in order to try and get people to spend yet more money. Zynga has to realize that this is a losing proposition and will result in a game being sent to the game graveyard prematurely.

I think two things need to happen for these games to become more enjoyable. The first is that we, the players, need to realize our limitations when it comes to these quests. While some people may be able to play the game eight hours a day, most of us will not be able to do that. As a result, we won't be able to complete all the quests. And we need to learn to be fine with that. After all, if you can only spend an hour a day on the game then that is all you can spend. I understand it might be disappointing that you won't get a certain reward or won't fully be able to complete a quest you started, but that's not a reason to tear your hair out and bang your head against the wall. Once we, as players, accept that fact, the game we play will become more enjoyable.

The second thing that needs to happen is that Zynga needs to come up with a better system for its quests. Having 10 pages of quests on your screen is wrong. It is simply too overwhelming to be confronted with that, even if you are someone who doesn't have a burning desire to complete them all. They need to move all the quests to a separate tab in the game. That way, you would only see them if you clicked that tab. Then they could allow you to select any two or three quests to work on, and only those quests would show up on your game page. Once you've completed a quest, you could then select another quest to work on. And, of course, they need to make the quest requirements more realistic. Having to chop 1000 trees in order to complete a requirement seems a little ridiculous. Maybe introduce difficulty levels and let the players decide which one they want. The higher the difficulty, the bigger and better the rewards. I think such changes would go a long way to helping players enjoy the game again. It might even encourage people to return to the game and get others to start playing.
